This course gets a lot of senior play, which may explain the lack of ball mark repairs done on the greens. They either can't see them or can't bend to fix them. Either way, I had to fix two or three ball marks in addition to my own, prior to being able to putt. The course should see if they could get some volunteers (in exchange for free golf) to adopt a few holes each to repair ball marks.

Our group of travelling seniors played here for the first time 6-25-13 because there was an outing on the East Course, which we prefer.
The West course is short, wide open, and fairly boring, with lots of back and forth fairways and not too much variety. Conditions were good, except for a few bare spots in a few fairways, but the course just isn't very interesting.
Staff was excellent. There are distance markers flush in the fairway, but it would be helpful to have some sort of vertical posts at 100, 150, and 200 yards. Similarly, they should go to Red/White/Blue flag system, instead of the small flag on the pole indicating pin placement. The small flags are hard to see from a distance, and frankly, they didn't seem to be very accurately placed. We also found that most of the tee boxes on the second nine were crowned: very tough to find a flat spot. Front nine was much different.
Bottom line: a nice enough course, but not worth a drive of any distance, and there are a couple of better layouts within 2-3 miles for essentially the same price(the East Course, The Bridges, and Honey Run come to mind).
